The intersection of psychedelic therapy and substance use issues is latent with possibilities and pitfalls. Supporting people in navigating the use of substances in a healing context, after having had problematic patterns with substances, requires a nuanced, harm reduction-informed, and flexible approach. Intended for clinicians and other practitioners who support people who use drugs, this course will be an exploration of the benefits and risks of psychedelics when substance use is part of the symptom picture. The course will also provide the IHRP (Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy) framework that can be applied to approach clinical work with clients who are using psychedelics.
